Week EiGhT!

This week my chunk was a sick baby. He did not feel well on Sunday and missed church, it only got worse from there. Poor kid has an ear infection in both ears and croup to boot! When the pediatrician told me about the ear infections I felt so bad for the kid. He had been crying for three days, with fevers and a rotten cough. I'm glad I took him in when I did otherwise he might have had some permanent damage! So, now he's on anti-biotics and has a wicked diaper rash from the side-effects of the meds. I hope next week gets better!

Monday 2/21/2011
This was day 1 of the worst of his sickness. Jacque and I had made plans to go to William's Sonoma and spend my $50 gift card. Seamus seemed to be doing fine. He just had a mild fever and was in a decent mood. that all changed. He started screaming when we were about 10 mins away from the store. We decided to brave it anyway. Bad idea. He was miserable. So, we went in I got what I wanted and we left. Jacque dropped me off at Dawn and Bryan's because that's where John was. We talked about Urgent Care and decided against because we thought it was just croup and they can't do anything for croup in a 20 month-old. So we went home. Ugh, he ripped my heart out people. Seamus cried for hours on end, his fever would spike and break, spike and break. After he went to sleep, Jacque and I took a little trip to Target. We clearance shopped. I love to clearance shop at Target. It is one of my stress relievers. He slept through the night which was good but we heard him coughing all through the night as well.
My Williams Sonoma purchases! Star Wars pancake molds and cookie cutters along with a new spatula.
Sick monkey...

Tuesday 2/22/2011
Just another sick kid today. Just as bad as yesterday, he did get a burst of energy after a dose of Tylenol and played for a little bit. I told him I wanted a picture of his feet and to hold still, instead he swung his legs up into the air and shoved them right into my camera lens. This is what I get for trying to be creative with my photos. After the foot pictures he played on the couch. He would stand up and count, "One, two, Go!" and would fall back onto the couch. It was super cute to watch, until I had to remind him to scoot forward a bit because he was dangerously close to smacking his head on the arm. Once I interfered the game was ruined and he got down and grabbed a book.

Wednesday 2/23/2011
This was the worst of it folks. Nothing but a sad sick baby all day. We stayed in until we went to the doctors office then we were back at home. He took some really good naps this week. I really miss those long naps and when he returns to his normal 1 hr 1 a day naps I'm going to miss them even more. He fell asleep on me Wednesday night. It was so sweet that it brought tears to my eyes. I could smell is little sick breath and he was so warm from the fever. His croup made him all wheezy and phlegmy. I felt so bad for him and just wanted it all to go away. I wanted him to feel better so badly.

Thursday 2/24/2011
24 hours of meds do a kid some good! He was still pretty crabby in the morning with a slight fever but nothing like Monday - Wednesday. So, we went out to take of some business from the week that had been put on the back burner due to a sick child. First on the list was an oil change, then Costco and finally Target. Family dinner that night was at Tina's. When we were getting ready to leave John was putting Seamus in his seat when i noticed candy in his hand. I though it was the roll of smarties I had already taken away from him because one roll is enough (thanks Aunt Tina) Well, I told John that I had taken the candy away for a reason, so why did he give it back. His response, "I didn't give it to him. Seamus who gave you that candy?" Seamus. "Aunt Tina did it." I laughed so hard when those words popped out of his mouth!

Friday 2/25/2011
Another good day. No fever at all and his appetite returned. Earlier in the week he ate almost nothing each day. Monday he ate nothing. Absolutely nothing. Tuesday, he had some smoothie and some cheesy bread. Wednesday, a hand full or two of Cheerios and a yogurt. Thursday, a couple of bites of my cereal in the morning and a hot dog and a half at Tina's. So, when he asked for food Friday morning I got to it! I made some Star Wars pancakes. There must be a trick to the molds that I have yet to figure out because the first couple were darker, they got stuck in the molds and I had to push them out with a knife so they burned. But, overall I was happy with the outcome and enjoyed eating Yoda for breakfast. During the day we took it easy. We went for a little walk as a family because Seamus had cabin fever from only going out into the balcony all week. It was a short walk but it felt nice to get out of the house. That evening we decided to go out for dinner and went to Five Guys Burgers and Fries. It was good. John and I both LOVED our burger but the fries were a little soggy and blah. So, next time no fries. Seamus ate yet another hot dog (I figure at this point in the game if he eats anything I'm lucky.) He ate about half of it and was done. We were so full that we decided to walk around the shopping center for a little while. So we started off across the parking lot. Seamus was so excited to be outside again that he wanted to run. Eventually the croup caught up with him and he began to cough. So, we carried for awhile until the cough settled down. Then it was home for Monsters Inc on the Blu-ray and bed.

Saturday 2/26/2011
We cleaned. A lot. Not everything got done because of Seamus' nap but it feels good to have the sick germs out of my house. Seamus is doing much better now and as a reward of sorts he and I played downstairs for bit. But, it was cold and his cough kicked up because it is just impossible to tell a kid they cannot run. Eventually he came to me and said,"Mamma insii" So, up the stairs he went. He took another really long nap almost three hours! So his room didn't get the cleaning I wanted. His sheet and blankets all were washed but now there is a laundry basket full of his clothes that needs to be put away. Oh, well maybe tomorrow. John and I went out Saturday night for a very belated Valentines dinner. We went to the Cheesecake Factory. We received a gift card for Christmas and have been waiting very patiently to use it. It was yummy! We each got an appetizer salad and because they were so huge we shared an entree and dessert. We got the red velvet cake cheesecake, it was so good, that's my next project. I'm going to recreate that cake for myself. My mom and Ciara came to the apartment to watch Seamus while we were out. He had fun playing with is Grammy and Auntie CC. When we got home he shouted, "HI!" and then proceeded to tell me about everything hey had done. Of course most of it was gibberish but I was happy to see him in such a great mood. He went to bed around 9pm and then John and I finally got to watch Inception. Wow, what a movie. I really enjoyed it and will definitely watch it again.

Sunday 2/27/2011
Seamus' diarrhea from the antibiotics is so bad that my chunk has blister in his bottom. So, in an effort to cool the burn we have eliminated anything that could make it worse and each time we change his diaper, which is a lot right now, we slather on the Vaseline or Desetine or both if we can get him to hold still long enough. Needless to say, he did not make it to church today. I didn't want him to have an explosion at church. John stayed home with him again, he's not quite comfortable enough in our calling to teach solo yet so I went to church and he stayed with Seamus. When I got home he was full of energy so we played in his room for awhile. He was so silly. I turned on his boom box with one of his silly songs CD's and we played with play dough. Well, he played. Every time I tried to pick up some to play he looked at me and said, "No, play, see?" and then he would point to the mat instructing me to watch him play with the play dough. The same thing happened when I tried to dance with him. He grabbed my shoulder (I was sitting on his bedroom floor) and told me "No danccce. Me." and then danced all by himself. Goofy kid. Seamus also helped Daddy empty this dishwasher by closing the door for him. Here he is trying to start an empty dishwasher.

And that my friends is week 8. A sick baby and a lot of cleaning as well as two very yummy dinners out! I would just like to add that I feel like I am torturing my son when we give him is medication. It is unflavored. Ya, I know, who gives unflavored medicine to a kid (and because I had already administered it when I called about adding flavor to it they wouldn't do it.) So, Seamus gets 10 days of unflavored anti-biotic twice a day. He starts saying, "No, no, no!" as soon as he sees the syringe. Here's to hoping that March starts off better! We are feeding the missionaries on Friday, it will be nice to get to know the new ones since Elders Evans and Bird have both been transferred now. John has a final this week and then he's on a break for a week. Fun Times ahead for the Harringtons, I can just feel it! See y'all next week!

February 24, 2011

Week 7!

Week 7 down! I kind of feel like we're getting into a better routine. I am constantly looking for activities to fill our calendar with. Seamus had fun this week. He got a bunch of new books and has been reading then non stop ever since. He walks up to me 4 or 5 times a day saying, "Mamma, book." So, we read. He has also started to read to himself, looking at the pictures and laughing to himself. Seamus also discover Shrek this week and thinks that Donkey is hilarious!

Monday, 2/14/2011
today was Valentine's Day for most of America, not really for us. It was a Monday, we exchanged cards but didn't do much of anything else. We went to the Friends of the Pima County Library book sale, Monday was the last day of the sale, so to push some inventory they have a $5 bag day. We filled 2 bags and came home with over 20 books! I loved the sale and plan to go back in April for the next. John had a job interview that went well and I had a doctors appointment to follow up on my pink-eye mess from last week (p.s. I'm all clear but the Dr said that because the scratchiness happens a lot that she was going to send a referral to see an eye doctor the next time it happens.) Ciara also had a soccer game and I went. John stayed with Seamus and I got to spend some one on one time with my Marmie. the game was good, it just took them awhile to get warmed up. Ciara played the whole game but was kind of off in la-la land, maybe she has boy fever and is distracted by all of her teammates. When I got home John had cooked dinner (a frozen lasagna, but hey I'll take it!) and made a card with Seamus for me. It was a nice evening.

Monkey just relax'n on the couch

Tuesday 2/15/2011
John missed his morning class because my phone turned itself off again in the middle of the night.  So, we went to Verizon to get a new one. My phone is still under warranty so the replacement was free but, they didn't have any in store so they had to mail one to me. That night John went to class as scheduled and Chunk and I read books on the couch. Lots of books. Our haul from the library books sale has proven worthy of Seamus' attention and we read a lot. Then it was off to bed for monkey and off to school for me.
Reading "Yummy Yucky" He has even started to "read" along with me!

Wednesday 2/16/2011
Seamus went with Grammy Glor for the day so I cleaned. I never feel like I get enough done on my day away from Seamus, it goes by so fast! But, when he got home John left for another interview that also went very well so, we'll see which one works out in the end. We had burgers for dinner and then Family Home Evening. FHE is definitely something we struggle with in our house because a) it's a new thing to us and forming a habit is difficult and b) Seamus has the attention span of a gnat and will only sit still for so long. We got a children's bible that is more of a storybook but it only highlights a few of the stories in the bible so, I guess I need to breakdown and get an FHE book from Desret. Having recovered from his war wound Seamus was ready to rough house again so he and John were playing on the floor. This time it was Daddy who got hurt, Seamus was very concerned and kept asking John, "You K Dada? You K?" and giving him kisses. It was cute.
It's all fun and games...

Until someone gets hurt.
 Thursday 2/17/2011
The day was normal just play time and nap time. Nothing much of note. Family dinner this week was at my Grammy Jackie's. Seamus was a little crabby and so we didn't stay late like we normally do. My mom wasn't there because she was with my GGMa but Seamus did get to play with his Auntie CC so he was happy.
roll'n with Elmo
Friday 2/18/2011
We went to library for Stay and Play again, this time John went with me. I wanted him to see what we did there so he would know what I was talking about when I came home. This was the day I knew Seamus was coming down with something. He was very clingy and whiny. He is also almost 2 which means temper tantrums for no reason. I threw a bucket and hit a little girl in the head. He had time out and then apologized, but after that he kinda checked out. We stayed until it was over though because singing time and story time were next. After that we went home, I got my new phone that didn't work and we were off to Verizon. This time they had phones in stock so, I got a replacement right away but I waited over an hour to get it done.  Seamus and John went next door to Subway and ate dinner and then played in the parking lot and in the car until I texted John that I was almost done, then they came back in. We stopped by Target because we didn't feel like going straight home, Seamus got bubbles. After that is was home and homework for me, bath, bubble and bed for Chunk and John was off to play his nerdy games with my Uncle Bryan.

Saturday 2/19/2011
John went to Bryan's early to help him sand and stain more of the new play set and Seamus and I went over to my moms to hang out. We went to Staples where Seamus insisted on pushing the cart by himself (lovely, right?) and then to a pet store so that mom could pick up some mice for fluffy (fluffy is a monitor that is about 5 1/2 feet long.) Seamus has never been to a pet store before and he enjoyed looking at most of the animals. He however did not enjoy the large parrot. As soon as that bird squawked he stopped dead and refused to walk any further. Ciara had to pick him up and carry him passed the bird. He also did not like the giant snakes. Everything else he liked. He especially liked the bunnies, who were in a play area so we was able to see them move and hop around.

small birds are OK

Bunnies!

Sunday 2/20/2011
Seamus was up all night with an awful cough. So, John stayed home from church with him, while I went so that our CTR-4's weren't left hanging. We pretty much vegged all day. When the baby is sick it's kind of an excuse to be lazy too. Before bed John was goofing around with Seamus and, I got some good ones of the both of them laughing together. I am so grateful I have a husband who is so loving and carefree with our son.

This project is beginning to teach me to find the fun in everything. Everywhere we go I look for fun things we could do that would make a good photo. I want my son to experience more and this project has definitely motivated me to do more. Each day is a new opportunity for Seamus to learn about the world. I love to see him digging in the dirt or looking up into the trees. I can see his little brain working so hard to absorb it all.

Next week, which is almost over because I took forever to edit my photos, is a slow one but, I think I have some really cute photos so, check back in a few days. I'll have another post by then!

February 16, 2011

Week SIX!

Week six was a busy one! We visited friends and family this week as well as going to the library for a stay and play activity. Seamus of course got to play at Grammy Glor's and with Ethan and Carsen.

Monday 2/7/2011
This was by far our slowest day. We stuck to our routine and played inside and on the patio. I wish that we lived somewhere more kid friendly but, I am convinced that my landlord hates his job and secretly wishes that everyone would move out. He pretty much expects total silence at all times. If we go outside and play in parking lot while a lot of people are home we can almost guarantee that we will get a message from Ron saying that someone complained about the noise. So, we stay confined to our apartment a lot so we don't piss off the neighbors.

Tuesday 2/8/2011
John went to school and Seamus and I played. We colored and worked on our colors. Seamus is finally starting to recognize the difference between blue and green! That was I battle I was sure I was going to loose! He still refuses to say the colors but when asked, "Where is the red ball?" He always picks the right one. We have also started working on adding more animals to his vocabulary. Right now he know the basic farm animals, cow, chicken, sheep, duck, cat, dog, bird etc... oh and elephant. I've started adding donkey, owl, giraffe, ostrich, seal, fox and tiger. For the most part he can pick them out of his flash cards. When he first saw the owl he said, "Mama What's that?" It made me laugh!

Today, while John was home he and Seamus began wrestling on the bed, Seamus of course was injured by smacking his head on our bed frame. John felt so guilty that he moped for an hour after it happened. Here is a picture of his boo-boo and of the giant mess that we call his toy mat in the living room.

Wednesday 2/9/2011
Seamus went to Grammy Glor's for just a couple of hours today. I like when he's gone longer because I have a chance to get everything done but I'll my free time anywhere I can get it! I went to a doctors appointment only to find that she was running over an HOUR behind, I rescheduled. When Seamus got home we played downstairs for a little while and then went back inside. It was a nice day so we had the sliding glass door open and Seamus played on the patio. He likes to draw on the cement with chalk, he just makes straight lines but every time he does it he smiles. We also played in his room. Seamus was particularly fond of his duck today and insisted I take a picture of his duck in the car.

Seamus' duck, in a toy car.

Thursday 2/10/2011
John had a job interview at 11 so Seamus and I hung out until he got home. Then we drove all the way up to SaddleBrooke to help GGMa pack up because she was moving out in Saturday. I don't feel like we got much done but She was grateful and I love spending time with my Grandma. Seamus was a very big helper and decided his job was to move GGMa's food storage cans around the garage. When my mom got off of work she stopped by and played with Seamus for a bit. She took him with her when she left and we got him back at Dawn and Bryan's because that is where family dinner was. It was Bryan's birthday and we had ribs and cookies and pie. Dawn made him a SpiderPig cookie cake because he requested one after he saw Cameron's Spiderman cake.

Friday 2/11/2011
Seamus and I went to Martha Cooper Library for their "Stay and Play" activity. We met a few people from the ward their. It was fun! They sing a bunch of songs and encourage the kids to clean up themselves. It was great and I plan to go back this week. They also have a toddler story time but it's on Wednesdays when Seamus is usually with Glor. Seamus was exhausted after playtime and took a really long nap! Once he woke up we went to Bryan and Dawns so that John could help Bryan set up part of the kids play set. It was nice out so we all came outside. Dawn and I chatted while Seamus, Ethan and Carsen played. This is where I had my biggest Mommy Fail to date. I didn't catch Seamus at the bottom of the slide and he really really hurt himself. He knocked the wind out of himself and passed out. You guys it was the most awful, horrible thing I think I have ever experienced. Luckily he was not seriously injured and by the end of the night he was fine. We did give him some Tylenol to help with the pain.

Saturday 2/12/2011
We finally went back to the SwapMeet. It was a beautiful day and there were a lot of people there. We managed to sell a couple of phones and get really really sunburned. We left there at 3 and went home. We ate out today because I didn't have anything thawed for dinner. After we finished eating we walked around the shopping center for a bit to help the food digest. John dropped Seamus and I off at home because it was bedtime and I had homework to do and he went to Bryan's and played nerdy games with the guys.

Sunday 2/13/2011
We all woke up a little sore from our sunburns. I though there was sunscreen in the diaper bag, there was not, so today we all look like we took a nap outside in July. Church as usual, it was nice and I enjoyed the speakers. Our Sunday School lesson went well and the kids participated in the entire lesson. A lot of the time we just talk at them until it's time to color because that's what they like best. Once we got home it was time to eat something, anything (that's the bad thing about 1pm church) so we had sandwiches and then watched TV. Seamus took a good nap and at 6:30 our Home Teacher came by for a visit.  Then it was bed for Seamus and homework for John and I.

You can see Seamus' "tan" lines

So, that was our week! I like that we spend so much time with family and I really like the library. I'm kind of mad at myself for not taking him sooner. See ya next week!

February 8, 2011

Welcome to February or Week 5 as I like to call it!

One month down and after that sna-fu with my USB cord I am happy to be posting this only a few days late instead of a few weeks late. We had more fun this week than we did the last one, I think it's because I am feeling much much better and I can open my eye without feeling like someone is trying to scratch it out.\

We spent a lot of time with Dawn and the boys this week as well as a fun play date! Seamus is learning more and more everyday and his vocabulary is awesome. He has started asking everyone if they're OK. He walks up to you gets right in your face and says, "You Ockay?" (I do the "ck" because he's very harsh with his "k" sounds.) Seamus didn't get to play with Grammy Glor this week but he's going tomorrow and is excited to see his Grammy Glor and maybe even his Pappy!

Monday, 1/31/2011
We stayed in still wary of the pink eye. I would feel awful if we caused an epidemic. So we did the usual and played in doors because it was chilly outside, I hate cold weather that's why I live here and not Minnesota. We colored and played in Seamus' room. Eventually the part ended up in our room and Seamus played dress up with some of Daddy's clothes. Here he is wearing one of Daddy's ties.

Tuesday 2/1/2001
The weather began to take a turn for the worse and we stayed indoors pretty much all day. I did bundle us up briefly to check the mail and spend a few moments outdoors. John went to school in the evening so Seamus and I watched Elmo and played. He gets sucked into Elmo pretty quickly and it gives me the opportunity to clean up dinner and maybe even some of the living room. My little man is growing up but when I look at this picture I still see some baby in him.

Wednesday 2/2/2011
It was cold. We went grocery shopping and ran a couple of errands but for the most part stayed indoors again. In the evening John and Seamus were playing and John began to lift Seamus in the air while holding on to his legs. Seamus thought this was great fun and wanted it to go on forever! When we count to three John and I will say "one" Seamus says "two" and John and I will say "three!" and then he does whatever it was we were counting up to. This particular evening Seamus must have said "Two" 25 times. Instead of saying something along the lines of "again!" or "more!" Seamus just got into position and said, hesitantly, "two"

John and Seamus laughing after being up in the air

John took this awesome picture of Seamus. He looks like a little boy in this photo.
  Thursday, 2/3/2011
Family dinner night this week was at Tina's. What was different about this week is that Chelsea came! Yay for Chelsea and her super adorable son Cameron! The boys had fun playing next to each other (Seamus still refuses to interact with strangers) Again with the freezing weather though so not a lot of outside time again today. Seamus instead played with his blocks. He made a tower and was very proud of himself. He came running over to me shouting, "Mama! Look!" It made me smile that he took such pride in his handy work.

Friday 2/4/2011
We were supposed to have a play date with the Procks at the park but Old Man Winter had other ideas so we rescheduled for this week and made it an inside affair so that no matter what Seamus, Hyrum and Livvie get to play. Instead Seamus and I went to my Aunt Dawns to play and so that I could help her make Camerons birthday cake. We made an awesome Spiderman cake! I am very proud of our work and it has made want to learn more. Dawn said that she would give me a crash course one weekend so that I will be up to date for the intermediate class that is coming up. Yay for cake decorating, it's fun! We also had a play date/ dinner date with the two Jacque's. Mrs. Maxwell and Mrs. Willams joined Seamus and I at the Tucson Mall play center for some fun times. Jacque W. brought her two little ones Tenley (3) and Scarlett who is (9 months?) Seamus enjoyed the play place but i do have to rant a bit about the 8 year olds that play in there. If strongly believe that the center is meant for kids five and under (you know the ones stuck in a stroller for hours while Mommy shops) Anyway, we had fun despite hooligans and Tenley obsession with the cute boutique just outside of the play place.

Having fun at the mall!

Cameron's cake!

Saturday 2/5/2011
This was the day of Camerons party! It was a cute little party with some of his friends and a lot of family (that's how the Hosacks roll) I tries to get Seamus to hit the pinata but he wanted nothing to do with it. Must have been the pressure, he doesn't react well if there are a lot of people trying to get him to do one thing. All of the encouragement confuses him and he just closes up. He does however love playing outside and he did a lot of that there. I got a hair cut on Saturday complements of SuperCuts at Oracle and Magee (the do free cuts in their training center when they train recent graduates on the SuperCuts way, keep an eye out on Craigslist in the free section, this is where I saw it posted) So, Seamus hung out with his Daddy, Aunt CC and cousin Josh.

My new hair!

Sunday 2/6/2011
Superbowl Sunday, except that this household is not a hardcore football household. So, it's not that big of a deal to us. John has told me in that past that if the 49ers are ever good again then he'll start caring. So, we woke up prepared ourselves for church and as we were walking out the door, I got sick... So John and Seamus went to church without me. Well they tried to go to church. Apparently my son was loud and obnoxious the entire time and John was so mortified he left. Sorry to whomever it was that was sitting in front of them. Apparently my son threw somethings at you, we're working on that. Once they were home we got stuff together and headed over to Bryan and Dawns to watch the game and spend some time with family (I should not have gone, I was miserable almost the entire time.) When we got home it was time for me to take my mid-term exams, I got a 90% on my Psych test and 100% on my Critical and Creative Thinking essay. Yay Me!

Seamus in his church clothes, he looks so handsome!

So that's it, I'm all caught up! this week we have a play date with the Procks and maybe Toddler time at the library, if Seamus is back in time. If not, it will have to remain on my someday list.
TTFN my friends see you in a week!

Week 4.... finally

So, first I just got behind and then I couldn't find my USB cord. (I feel silly because it was in my camera case the whole, I just never put it there) So we are a couple of weeks behind. I'm feeling a little like a failure because I couldn't even keep it together for a month. I guess that this is what this project is about though, getting me to stick to something for more than two weeks. That's why I've told so many people, I want to be held accountable.

Week four was a slow one. We did not do much because Seamus was running a fever a couple of days, I think it's from teething though because he is also chewing on EVERYTHING!

Monday 1/24/2011

We went to the park! It was chilly and a little windy but we had fun. I always bring a ball to play with so we kicked the ball around for a bit and then ran around. Seamus and I raced, he won (lol) We also played on the playground but Seamus wanted nothing to do with the swings. The kid is terrified of the swings. I'm afraid that he got his mommy's lack of adventurousness. Bummer for him though because I've missed out on some pretty cool things. Anyway back to the park, Seamus eventually started chasing the birds. Poor birds. He had fun though and they got away fast enough that no one was harmed.

Tuesday 1/25/2010
We stayed in because it was Daddy's school day. Like every Tuesday we stayed close to home and only played outside in the parking lot or out on the balcony. We also watched Meet the Robinson's, I like that movie because the family motto is "Keep Moving Forward" it's something I need to work on. The picture for today is of Seamus enjoying the movie, the 20 minutes that he actually sat down and watched.

Wednesday 1/26/2011
I woke up feeling icky. I think I must have slept with my mouth open because my throat hurt really bad and my nose was stuffy. In the afternoon we went to my Uncle Bryan and Aunt Dawns'. Bryan was a work but we swung by to pick up the pork roasts for Thursdays family dinner. Seamus played outside with Ethan and Carsen for a while. I love that he has cousins he's close in age with. They have fun together running around, wrestling and just being boys. Seamus especially admires Ethan. He follows him around and mimics everything he does. It's cute.

Thursday 1/27/2011
Thursday is Hosack Family dinner night. Every Thursday we get together as a family and eat. This week I cooked the food and Bryan and Dawn paid for it. We had pulled pork and it was fantastic! Yum! Earlier in the day, still feeling icky (stupid cold season) I took a nap when Seamus did. In fact we took a nap together. John snapped a pic of us sleeping, I love it despite the fact that my neck looks six times bigger than it really is.

Friday 1/28/2011
I finally went to the doctor for my ickyness. Turns out I had an infection in my eye. I don't think it was pink eye because no one else in the house got it and my eye had been bothering me for two days prior. I felt like there was a grain of sand in my eye or something, it was miserable. We also played outside and went to my GGMa's new house for the inspection. We were already on that side of town so we stopped by to see the house and give my family some love. the kitchen of the house it awful and my GGMa is redoing that before she even moves in, trust me it needs it. The rest of the house is cute, it has really pretty tile floors and the right amount of space for her. Seamus had fun in the backyard, which is good because my mom will be living there for the time being to help my GGMa adjust to her new home.

We had planned on going to the Swapmeet that day but, woke up to wind and cooler weather. I don't handle medications well and the goop that the doctor gave me for my eye made me nauseous and lightheaded. So, rather than waste $15 that we don't have we stayed in. John and Seamus played and I rested. The picture is why I think Seamus is teething... he's chewing on the letter "Y" from his alphabet mat.

The last day of January! John woke up with a goopy eye so we went to Urgent Care to get it checked out. Not pink eye just allergies but we didn't want to take any chances. So we missed church because we didn't want to contaminate the primary. Instead we stayed home and chilled. Sunday pic is from our Urgent Care adventure. It was actually pretty quick. If you ever need to go I would suggest Urgent Care Associates at Pima and Swan. It's on Swan just south of Pima on the east side of the road. They are always quick and friendly.

So, that's it. January is done! One month down 11 to go... I can do this. I'm beginning to sound like the little engine that could,"I think I can, I think I can..."

My Dearest Readers,

My weekly blog post has been delayed due to the loss of my USB cord. I will post as soon as I am able to transfer my photos to my computer and then to this lovely blog.

We have been busy though so prepare for some awesomeness!

See you all soon!
